Who we are?
ABQgig is a community broadband working group between the technology industry, academic institutions, research labs, local governments, businesses, startups and residents working together to improve the high-speed broadband infrastructure and service in Albuquerque, NM.
Why are we doing it?
To support policies that improve broadband competition by encouraging and removing barriers to the deployment of high-speed networks.

Bringing modern wireless technology to underserved communities
This project uses modern millimeter wave (mmW) technology to provide wireless gigabit backhaul and last-mile connectivity at a fraction of the cost of full fiber deployment. It provides connectivity in the underserved and economically disadvantaged community of Barelas just south of downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico.
